Downer Energy Systems (DES) has the capability and experience to deliver "turnkey" systems and packages of plant (BOP) tailored to complement core plant, such as Steam and Gas Turbine Generators, supplied by others.

With over 50 years experience in the power industry, Downer Energy Systems has continued to update it's technology base and range of products to engineer Balance of Plant systems "in-house". Downer Energy Systems will assume the responsibility for the complete engineering, supply, manufacture, delivery to site, installation, commissioning, testing, and Quality of the plant supplied. Direct control over engineering and project management functions enables Downer Energy Systems to share appropriate risks with its clients, including performance and delivery.

Downer Energy Systems' capability has enabled it to supply dozens of turnkey balance of plant units to a variety of customers such as Hitachi, Siemens, and Alstom Power, using it's own in house technologies, and technology license arrangements.

Technology license agreements in place are:

  • Heat Recovery Steam Generators NEM bv, Netherlands
  • Power Cycle Heat Exchangers Alstom Power, Switzerland
  • Isolated Phase Busbars Simelectro, France

Balance of Plant packages delivered include:

  • Complete condensing & feedwater heating plants including piping & controls
